Two Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting DPO In Kwara

The police in Kwara State have arrested two males for allegedly obstructing officers, resisting arrest and assaulting a Divisional Police Officer throughout a disturbance at a police station.

The suspects had been recognized as Sesan Tolu and Sebastian Babatunde.

Police sources stated the incident occurred at about 7:14 p.m. on July 23 after Tolu allegedly brought on a disturbance and harassed officers on the station’s cost room.

Officers reportedly moved to arrest him over the alleged conduct when Babatunde intervened and allegedly prevented the policemen from finishing up their responsibility.

Babatunde had earlier been taken to the station in reference to an allegation of malicious injury to financial crops belonging to at least one Ismail at Ijaperin Village.

Police stated efforts by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Adejuwon Morakinyo, and detectives to revive order failed because the state of affairs escalated.

In keeping with the sources, Babatunde allegedly attacked Morakinyo with out provocation, hanging him within the face.

The suspect was additionally accused of damaging the DPO’s prescription glasses, which had been valued at ₦90,000.
