Nigerian talent manager and music executive Ubi Franklin has opened up about having children with multiple women, calling it one of the greatest mistakes of his life and cautioning young people against following a similar path.

He made the comments during a recent episode of his podcast, Talks with Ubi Franklin, a clip of which was posted to his Instagram page on Wednesday.

Speaking candidly about his personal journey, the father of four said that while he deeply loves all his children, he wishes he had approached things differently.

He described having kids with different women as one of the worst decisions anyone could make, admitting that he speaks from personal experience and insisting that no amount of wealth or success should ever justify such a choice.

According to Franklin, providing financially for his children has never been where the difficulty lies.

Rather, he said the real challenge has been navigating relationships with the mothers of his children, noting that while he’s been fortunate enough to comfortably support them, managing the emotions involved with their mothers has proven far more complicated.

He urged young people to steer clear of such situations entirely, warning that while some people, like himself, have managed to survive the fallout of “baby mama drama,” others might not be so fortunate.

Franklin said that if given the chance to do things over, he would choose a different path altogether, while maintaining that children remain one of life’s greatest blessings and expressing a wish that, ideally, all his children could have come from one union.

In the caption accompanying the clip, he explained that he was sharing his story to help others avoid similar mistakes, stating that growth starts with honesty.

Franklin was married to actress Lilian Esoro from November 2015 before the couple separated a year later; they share a son, Jayden.

In 2017, he disclosed that he had struggled with depression for nine months following the end of the marriage.

Beyond Jayden, Franklin has three other children from separate relationships.
