The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Operations Office, on Tuesday, 30th June, 2026, coordinated the reception of the third batch of Nigerian citizens voluntarily repatriated from the Republic of South Africa.
The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Cargo Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, at approximately 10:46 hours aboard a chartered flight.
A total of 298 persons were received, comprising 106 adult males, 59 adult females, 113 children, and 20 infants.
The reception exercise was conducted in collaboration with relevant government agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), as well as other stakeholders.
Following their arrival, the returnees were taken through the necessary reception procedures, including registration, identity verification, health screening, and other support services to facilitate their onward movement.
NEMA coordinated the transportation logistics for the returnees, while security agencies ensured adequate protection throughout the movement to their designated destinations.
The reception forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to support Nigerian citizens returning from South Africa and to ensure their safe, orderly, and dignified reintegration into their communities.
