2027 Election: “Count Northern Nigeria Out of Your Campaign Zone” – Arewa Youth President Warns Peter Obi

The President of the Arewa Youths has declared that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi should not expect support from northern Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that no northern state would vote for him.

Speaking during an interview on News Century Television, the Arewa Youth President said Obi neither consulted nor reached any agreement with the group before indicating interest in the 2027 race.

According to him, “Peter Obi should count northern Nigeria out of his campaign zone. No single state in northern Nigeria will vote for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.”

He also stated that the group would instead support “a presidential candidate who supported President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and supported northern Nigeria.”

The youth leader further warned that any state coordinator who backs Peter Obi against the group’s position would be removed from office.

In his words, “Peter Obi did not consult us before coming out to contest for president in 2027. We have no agreement with him, and we are not going to support him.”

He added, “Any single state that votes for Peter Obi, we are going to sack and replace the state coordinator.”

The remarks have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians disagreeing with his comments and insisting that individual voters, not groups, will decide who they support in the next general election.
