ADC governorship candidate lauds Osun people for ensuring their votes count

Chief Obodeze Ocho, the Governorship Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State for 2027 general elections has commended the people of Osun State during August 15 governorship election for ensuring their votes count.

Obodeze made the commendation in Nsukka on Monday in an interview with our Correspondent while reacting to Gov Ademola Adeleke’s re-election victory last Saturday.

He said the people of Osun did not only voted for Adeleke but they ensured their votes were counted and transmitted to INEC portal before leaving the polling units.

“I commend Osun residents for their commitment and resilience in ensuring that their votes for Gov. Adeleke counted.

” Their massive votes for Adeleke will have amounted to nothing if they have voted and went home to sleep,” he said.

He urged all Nigerians to emulate the resilience and commitment of Osun people in last Saturday governorship election in that state.

“If votes of Nigerians count in 2027 general elections, candidates that enjoy the support and mandates of the people will emerge victorious. and our country will move forward.

“Democracy works when the people treat their vote like something they can protect and guard with all their strength to enable their votes count.

“In 2027 general elections, if we want the right candidates to win, after casting our votes we should stay and watch in order to see the votes are counted and transmitted to INEC portal, before leaving our polling units,”, he said.

He also commended INEC the electoral umpire for allowing and respecting the wish of Osun people to prevail by ensuring credible election.

“I commend INEC because the results announced in the 30 local government areas of Osun State
reflected what happened on the ground as well as the wish of the people,” Obodeze added
