AMALA SKY INTRODUCES AFFORDABLE NIGERIAN MEAL COMBOS FOR BBNAIJA SEASON

For generations, amala has occupied a special place in the culinary heritage of Southwestern Nigeria. Once associated mainly with traditional homes and local food canteens, the indigenous delicacy is gradually finding new expression within modern fine-dining restaurants in upscale areas such as Lekki, Garki and Wuse.

Restaurants such as Amala Sky are contributing to this transition by presenting traditional Nigerian meals within contemporary dining spaces while retaining the familiar flavours and cultural identity associated with them.

As part of this evolving food culture, Amala Sky has introduced a 90-day promotional campaign offering customers a 20 per cent discount on selected meals throughout the Big Brother Naija season.

The campaign is being implemented by the restaurant’s Lekki Admiralty branch and is targeted at customers across Lagos, particularly residents and professionals living or working on Lagos Island.

Customers can access two discounted meal options through the BBNaija Corner on the Chowdeck food-delivery platform.

The first option, listed as the Amala Sky BOGOF Offer, includes a goat-meat meal with an additional small portion of beef. The price has been reduced from ₦9,700 to ₦7,760.

The second option, known as the Amala Sky Feast Combo, consists of amala, ewedu, goat meat and water. Its price has been reduced from ₦7,740 to ₦6,192.

Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager of Amala Sky’s Lekki Admiralty branch, Madam Anthonia Sheffield, said the campaign was introduced to provide customers with more affordable access to Nigerian meals.

Sheffield said the restaurant was responding to the rising cost of dining and food delivery, particularly for people living and working around Lagos Island.

“We recognise that many customers are becoming more deliberate about how they spend on food,” she said. “Our objective is to continue making quality and delicious Nigerian meals available without requiring customers to spend beyond their means.”

She added that the campaign was designed to run throughout the BBNaija season, giving customers sustained access to the discounted meals rather than restricting the offer to a short promotional window.

According to the company, both offers will remain available for 90 days through the BBNaija section of the Chowdeck application, subject to meal availability and delivery coverage.

Beyond the seasonal discount, the campaign reflects the continuing evolution of amala from a traditional Southwestern staple into a meal that can be enjoyed within modern restaurants and through digital food-delivery platforms. For Amala Sky, it is an effort to preserve the cultural character of Nigerian cuisine while making it more accessible to a new generation of diners.
