Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again declared support for his uncle and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The singer, in a post on his X handle on Tuesday, said his team will be in Osun despite alleged intimidation.
He wrote: “Been so busy with my album n music as it should be, but Tomoro we hit OSUN for @AAdeleke_01 We no Dey fear anything we Dey ur back we believe in God 4+4 any intimidation nah for una back pocket”.
… comes hours after Governor Adeleke accused political opponents of orchestrating killings and a “rigging plot” in the state, and called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
The governor also alleged political persecution despite endorsing the President for re-election.
“Why are they killing us? Osun will not accept any rigging. We will go out en masse and defend our votes,” Adeleke had said at a campaign rally in Osogbo on Monday.
The Osun APC, in a swift reaction, dismissed the governor’s claims as baseless and frivolous.
The party, through its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, accused Adeleke of fuelling violence and said the allegations against Tinubu and Minister Gboyega Oyetola were an attempt to justify an imminent defeat.
