Two people were k!lled when armed b@ndits att@cked Dinawa village in Sokoto State on August 18 around 11:30 p.m.
A large group of b@ndits carrying sophisticated weapons invaded the community and opened fire.
Police received a distress call and quickly deployed tactical teams along with soldiers from a nearby military base to the scene.
Security forces exchanged gunfire with the attackers for some time, forcing the b@ndits to flee into a nearby forest.
But not before two residents were sh0t d£ad during the att@ck.
The bodies were taken to a hospital for examination and autopsy.
Joint security teams then searched the surrounding bushes to track down and capture the fleeing b@ndits.
Police also alerted nearby divisions to watch for suspects who might try to escape through their areas.
Security forces have stepped up surveillance and patrols around affected communities as they continue hunting the perpetrators and trying to prevent further att@cks.
