Benue Flags Off Distribution Of FG-Assisted Fertiliser To Farmers

Benue State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr Benjamin Ashaver, has flagged off the distribution of 21 trucks of Federal Government-assisted Fertiliser, provided through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, to farmers across the state.

Speaking during the flag-off in Makurdi on Monday, Dr Ashaver reaffirmed the Benue State Government’s commitment to ensuring that the farm inputs reach genuine farmers in council wards.

Ashaver assured that the distribution process would be transparent, fair, and accountable, with priority given to farmers duly registered with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN).

The commissioner stated that the intervention would boost agricultural productivity, improve food security, and support the state’s vision of strengthening the agricultural sector.

Ashaver cautioned the public against spreading false or misleading information that could tarnish the state’s hard-earned reputation and that of its institutions.

He urged citizens to verify facts before making public claims, emphasising that issues should be sincerely investigated before conclusions are drawn.

Ashaver reiterated that the Benue State Government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the equitable distribution of agricultural support inputs and seeds to ensure that interventions reach the beneficiaries.
