The African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Benue South has commenced preparations for the 2027 general election with the constitution of a campaign council to coordinate his political activities and mobilisation efforts.
The Dr David Olofu Campaign Council has approved the appointment of additional directors to oversee various aspects of the campaign as the election approaches.
The appointment letters were signed by Dr Adakole Elijah, Secretary to the Campaign Council.
In the latest appointments, Group Captain Steve Adah was named Director of Security and Intelligence, while Bashir Hassan will head Election Management and the Situation Room.
Honourable Dan Atayi, who previously served in the New Media Directorate, has been moved to head the Door2Door Directorate. Lawrence Okoh has been appointed the new Director of New Media.
Chief Oga Ekwu was appointed Director of Legal Affairs, with Barrister Jacob Ogwuche serving as his deputy.
Other appointments include Honourable Ajumi Igomu as Deputy Director, Door2Door; Johnson Adeh as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence; and Chief Donald Agida as Director, Training.
Pastor Ali Ujor and Honourable Igoche Gabriel were also appointed Deputy Directors in charge of Election Management and the Situation Room.
The latest appointments followed an earlier announcement by the Chairman of the Dr David Olofu Campaign Council, Sir John Ngbede, and the Director-General, Chief Chris Adaba Abah, who had appointed several individuals to key positions within the campaign structure.
Those earlier appointed include Ala’nana Daniel as Director of Research, Documentation and Strategy, with Honourable James Inalegwu Edogbanya and Shagari Williams as deputies.
Honourable Oklo Eineje Oklo was appointed Director of Mobilisation, while Adegahi Abuh Elijah was named Director of Youth Mobilisation. Honourable Elijah Lincoln Ogbe and Honourable Sunday Aboh (Boy Lenge) were appointed Deputy Directors in the Youth Mobilisation Directorate.
Honourable Evelyn Okwe was appointed Director of Women Mobilisation, with Honourable Ramat Yusuf, Hajia Zanab Usman and Agnes Erebee serving as deputies.
Rexino Ejembi Ogwuche was appointed Director of Publicity, while James Ibechi will serve as Director of Media. Kelly Agaba was appointed Director of Support Groups.
Other appointments include Timothy Agbochenu and Abraham Uloko as Deputy Directors of Mobilisation; Muslim Mohammed and Samson Otokpa as Deputy Directors of New Media; Baba Iyopo and Hon Dennis Ogbeche as Deputy Directors of Door2Door; and Alex Igwe and Hon Egbiri Idaah as Deputy Directors of Training.
Owoicho Oyi was appointed Director of Transport and Logistics, while Barr Sunday Egbodor was named Deputy Director of Legal Affairs.
Barrister Oji Egwu will serve as Secretary to the Director-General, while Honourable Tony Ogbo was appointed Special Assistant to the Director-General.
The campaign council also appointed Ene Musa Ochi as Special Assistant to the Chairman on Women Affairs and Godwin Owulo as Special Assistant to the Chairman on Elders.
The campaign council said all the appointments took immediate effect.
The appointees are scheduled to be inaugurated on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
