“Can’t We Just Be Friends?” – Lady Questions Why Some Men End Friendships After Rejection

A woman has sparked conversations on social media after opening up about what she described as the difficulty of maintaining platonic friendships with men.

In a viral video, the lady expressed disappointment, claiming that several of her friendships with men ended after she declined their sexual advances.

According to her, she recently met a man she genuinely enjoyed spending time with and made every effort to maintain a healthy friendship. However, she said the relationship changed after she made it clear that she was not interested in having a sexual relationship.

She explained that her goal was simply to enjoy a meaningful friendship without intimacy, but she was saddened when she felt the connection depended on sex.

“I just really feel bad right now. I met someone and we were just cool. I tried everything possible not to make him angry,” she said.

The woman added that she believes friendships should be able to exist without romantic or sexual expectations.

“Let’s be happy. Let’s be friends, even without the sex. The moment you refuse to sleep with them, the moment you refuse to have sex with them, that’s the end of that friendship,” she said.

She further claimed that some men completely cut off communication after being rejected, with some even blocking her.

“I encounter this a lot, and it hurts me that I can’t even have a friendship without having sex with the person,” she said.

Questioning why some men struggle to maintain platonic relationships with women, she acknowledged that some people might blame her appearance but insisted that it should not determine the nature of every friendship.

The video has since generated mixed reactions online, with many social media users sharing differing opinions on friendships, attraction, boundaries, and expectations between men and women.
