Europe’s Top Leagues Set for Thrilling Weekend on DStv, GOtv

The new European football season moves into top gear this weekend as the Premier League joins La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 in action, with some of the continent’s biggest clubs set for highly anticipated fixtures.

Following a summer of major transfers, managerial changes and intense pre-season preparations, clubs across Europe will begin or continue their campaigns with fans able to watch the action live on SuperSport via DStv and GOtv.

Premier League Kicks Off

The Premier League returns on Friday night, with defending champions Arsenal welcoming newly promoted Coventry City at 9:00pm.

Manchester United will begin their campaign away to Hull City on Saturday at 12:30pm, while Tottenham Hotspur face Brentford at 5:30pm.

Sunday brings two major fixtures, with Manchester City visiting Bournemouth at 2:00pm before Newcastle United host Liverpool at 4:30pm.

The opening round concludes on Monday when Chelsea travel to Fulham for a West London derby at 8:00pm.

The Premier League fixtures will be broadcast live on SS Premier League — GOtv Channel 65 and DStv Channel 203.

Real Madrid, Barcelona Face La Liga Tests

La Liga enters Matchday Two, with Spanish giants Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona all in action.

Real Madrid travel to Espanyol on Saturday at 8:30pm, while Atletico Madrid host Villarreal on Sunday at 5:00pm.

Barcelona will round off the weekend’s featured La Liga fixtures when they visit Elche at 8:30pm on Sunday.

The matches will be broadcast live on La Liga — GOtv Channel 62 and DStv Channel 204.

Serie A Giants Begin Campaigns

Italy’s Serie A also gets underway, with several heavyweight clubs returning to competitive action.

Inter Milan face Monza at 5:30pm on Saturday, followed by Napoli’s away clash with Genoa at 7:45pm.

On Sunday, Juventus take on Frosinone at 5:30pm, while AC Milan visit Torino at 7:45pm.

Roma will then host Fiorentina on Monday at 7:45pm.

PSG Headline Ligue 1 Action

Ligue 1 also begins its new season this weekend, with Marseille opening against Strasbourg on Friday at 9:00pm.

The spotlight will then turn to Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday when the French champions face Rennes at 9:00pm.

Both fixtures will air live on Africa 1 — GOtv Channel 63 and DStv Channel 207.
