The recognition was presented during the 14th Edition of the WiLAT Nigeria Conference, held on 6 August 2026, where Mrs. Loremikan received a Special Retirement Plaque for her commitment, leadership, mentorship, and service to the Nigerian Ports Authority and the WiLAT NPA Chapter.
The award comes less than a year after her retirement from the Nigerian Ports Authority in October 2025, bringing to a close an accomplished career that spanned 31 years, having joined the Authority on 8 March 1994.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Loremikan served in several strategic roles within the Authority. She spent over 25 years in Tariff and Billing Operations, contributing to revenue administration and operational efficiency, before transitioning to service delivery and institutional reform initiatives. She later became the Pioneer Head of SERVICOM at Calabar Port Complex, where she championed customer-focused service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.
Beyond her official responsibilities, she distinguished herself as a mentor, advocate, and leader within the logistics and transport profession. Her contributions extended to professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and WiLAT Nigeria, where she played active leadership roles aimed at promoting professional development and increasing opportunities for women in the industry.
Speaking during the presentation, members of the WiLAT NPA Chapter described Mrs. Loremikan as a committed professional whose dedication, integrity, and leadership left a lasting impact on colleagues, mentees, and the wider maritime community.

The Special Retirement Plaque recognised her many years of service and acknowledged her contributions to the growth and development of WiLAT within the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Since retiring from active service, Mrs. Loremikan has continued to make significant contributions through coaching, mentoring, leadership development, capacity building, and advocacy. She has repositioned herself as a Retirement Reinvention Strategist, Executive Visibility Coach, and Trade Facilitation Advocate, helping professionals navigate career transitions while promoting leadership excellence and lifelong learning.
Her post-retirement journey has also been marked by several recognitions from professional and leadership organisations, reflecting the enduring value of her contributions to both the maritime industry and human capital development.
Industry stakeholders at the conference noted that her story exemplifies the importance of purposeful leadership and the lasting influence of professionals who invest in developing others while delivering value throughout their careers.
As the maritime and logistics sector continues to evolve, Mrs. Loremikan‘s legacy remains a testament to the impact of dedication, service excellence, and professional leadership.
