Fountain University Extends Registrar’s Tenure, Recognizes Outstanding Service

The Governing Council of Fountain University, Osogbo, has approved the reappointment of Mr. Sheriff Adeyemi Adenekan as Registrar of the University for a second and final term of four years, effective December 1, 2026.

The decision was taken at the 66th Regular Meeting of the University’s Governing Council held on August 13, 2026, in recognition of Mr. Adenekan’s significant contributions to the growth, development, and administrative advancement of the University.

Mr. Adenekan’s first tenure, which expires on November 30, 2026, will be renewed for another four years, extending his tenure as Registrar until November 30, 2030.

Speaking on the reappointment, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr. AWA Ibraheem, FCA, commended Mr. Adenekan for his commitment, effectiveness, and efficiency in the discharge of his responsibilities. He described the Registrar as a seasoned administrator whose contributions have continued to support the effective administration and advancement of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, also highlighted several notable achievements recorded under Mr. Adenekan’s leadership of the Registry. These include the strengthening of Council and Senate administration through technology, enhancement of Registry operations through staff development and innovative practices, and the coordination of successful accreditation exercises and academic programme development.

Other milestones include the introduction of electronic transcript processing, as well as sustained efforts towards staff welfare, capacity development, and professional growth.

The University acknowledged Mr. Adenekan’s collaboration, responsiveness, and dedication to advancing the vision and objectives of Fountain University.

The reappointment, according to the University, reflects the confidence of the Governing Council in his leadership and continued capacity to contribute meaningfully to the institution’s administrative and institutional development.

Fountain University congratulates Mr. Sheriff Adeyemi Adenekan on his reappointment and wishes him a successful second and final tenure.
