Gombe Gov Appoints Chairmen, DGs, SSAs

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has appointed the new Chairmen and Directors-General in the State Public Service, and Senior Special Assistants to strengthen governance.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi conveyed the Governor’s approval, announcing the names and portfolios.
Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan is to take charge as Executive Chairman, Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Agency ( GOSUPDA), while Dr.Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido was appointed Director-General, Economic and Social Reforms Coordination, Governor’s Office.
Also appointed are Professor Hassan Bello, as Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), while Dr. Takkani Solomon Jiga, will take charge as Director-General, Educational Reforms Coordination, Governor’s Office.
The SSG also announced the Governor’s approval of the appointment of Senior Special Assistants I, comprising six individuals assigned to political matters and community engagement.
They are Mohammed Danlami Isah, Timothy S. Labatak, Mahmud Muhammad (Wafa), Muhammad Bashir Isa (Sarkin Tafarkin Funakaye), Haruna Jonga and Hon. Adamu Bello (Laro).
Under the category of Senior Special Assistants II, the Governor appointed Maikudi Yagana and Manu Dumbati, both for Political and Community Relations, while Atiku Muhammad (Boza Boza) has been appointed Special Special Assistant II on Public Communications.
Similarly, Hassan Bappa (Sarkin Goro), Yunusa Jiji, Maikudi Sarkin Manja, Muhammad Adamu Muh’d, Arabi Usman, Ibrahim Dahiru, Idris Sani Mohammed, Abdulhadi Haruna Usman, Ahmed Lamido, Philemon Ezra, Barnabas Masfara, Kanadilan Nuhu, and Alfred Bobby were appointed Senior Special Assistants II.
Also appointed by the Governor are: Talatu Adamu, Vasty Saleh, Ladi Alhaji Adamu, and Faratu Ahmad Nafada as Senior Special Assistants II on Women Mobilization.
Njodi stated that all the appointments are with effect from August 19, 2026.
