A taxi driver in Sunyani is being celebrated online for his outstanding honesty after he tracked down a passenger who had forgotten a bag containing GH¢30,000 in his vehicle and returned the full amount to her.
According to reports, the driver discovered the money after the passenger had already alighted and gone her way. Rather than keep the cash, he made efforts to locate her and hand back every cedi.
A video capturing part of the emotional reunion has since surfaced online, showing the passenger blessing the driver for his integrity.
His action has drawn widespread commendation on social media, with many describing his conduct as a rare example of honesty in a society where such gestures often go unrewarded.
The driver’s name has not yet been made public. In the video capturing the incident, the passenger was visibly emotional, shedding tears while others gathered around the car to appreciate the driver for his kind gesture.
