Hotel Worker Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Eight Refrigerators

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Elijah Ahmed for allegedly stealing eight refrigerators from a hotel where he worked.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued at the weekend.
According to the police, Ahmed, a resident of Tunga, Abdulsalam Motor Park area, was arrested by operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division following a complaint about the missing refrigerators.
“Based on a complaint, one Elijah Ahmed of Tunga, Abdulsalam Motor Park area was arrested by Police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Div for stealing eight refrigerators in a hotel where he works,” the police spokesperson stated.
During the investigation, five of the stolen refrigerators were reportedly recovered from the suspect, while he allegedly sold the remaining three to a scrap dealer.
The police said efforts to apprehend the scrap dealer, who is currently at large, are ongoing.
Ahmed has since been charged to court for prosecution, according to the police.
