“I’m Here to Debunk the Falsehoods and Lies” – VeryDarkMan Challenges Police Over Press Release on AIG Jimoh Moshood

  • VeryDarkMan has challenged the Nigeria Police Force over its recent press release concerning the investigation involving AIG Jimoh Moshood, asking the Force to provide evidence that an invitation letter dated July 30 was actually sent to him.
  • His response has generated widespread debate online, with some supporting his call for transparency while others urged the public to allow the official investigation to run its course.

Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reacted to the Nigeria Police Force’s latest press release regarding its ongoing internal investigation involving Assistant Inspector-General of Police Jimoh Moshood, accusing the police of making false claims and demanding proof of its actions.

The police, in a statement dated August 4, 2026, said the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) had invited VDM to assist with its investigation after allegations were raised against the senior police officer. According to the statement, an invitation letter was formally issued to VDM on July 30, 2026, urging him to appear at the FCID headquarters in Abuja.

However, VDM disputed the police’s claims in a social media post, questioning whether the invitation was ever sent to him.

In his words, “Debunking one of the lies in the police press release @nigeriapoliceforce CAN YOU POST evidence showing the number you sent the invitation dated 30th July? 2:- for transparency of the panels somethings must be put in place 3:- people that are wondering how I got all these evidence let me tell you “I’m Here To Debunk The Falsehoods Ans Lies In The Police Press Release About Me And AIG Jimoh Moshood.”

His response has sparked fresh reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the credibility of both the police investigation and VDM’s allegations.

Reactions

@marythesa: “Bro @thatverydarkman nothing will come out of that police investigation they will definitely protect their own and cover him up! The thing there is just that u will have the opportunity to at least expose all the shenanigans of the police using their superior AIG moshood jimoh!”

@chi_emma5921: “I talk am yesterday. The boy go bring another narrative come out. Make we sha Dey watch this drama”

@CorruptionIzBad: “The painful part no be even VDM talking. Na the fact say many Nigerians now trust social media influencers to investigate issues more than the institutions paid with taxpayers’ money. When people lose confidence in public institutions, anybody with a phone and audience can become the ‘investigator.’ The Nigeria Police need to rebuild public trust through professionalism, transparency, and results, not press statements and media battles. Respect is earned by actions, not demanded by rank.”
