Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that the criminal case filed against him by the Nigeria Police over his use of a police uniform has been struck out by the court.

Sharing the update on his Instagram page, VDM revealed that the case, which had lasted for about two years, ended in his favour after the court reportedly found insufficient evidence to sustain the charge.

The case stemmed from allegations that he impersonated a police officer by wearing a Nigerian Police uniform in one of his videos, an incident that led to his arraignment in 2024 after the Nigeria Police launched an investigation into the matter.

Celebrating the development, VDM wrote:

“First of all congratulations to me. After 2 years of battling in court with the Nigerian police over the charge that I wore a Nigerian police uniform therefore impersonating the Nigeria police, a criminal offense punishable by 2-5 years.

It is with great pleasure to announce to you all that the battles are all over, the case have been struck out for lack of evidence and therefore I have been honorably discharged and acquitted.

The activist also shared a celebratory video after making the announcement, expressing excitement over the court’s decision.
