The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students for poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.
The decision was taken at the university’s 166th Regular Senate Meeting held on July 29, 2026, following the consideration of a report by the Results Verification Committee, according to a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale.
The statement said the affected students were drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery.
According to the university, the students failed to meet the minimum academic requirements or did not register for two consecutive semesters, resulting in the forfeiture of their studentship in line with the institution’s regulations.
Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended the Results Verification Committee for its diligence and commitment to maintaining the university’s academic standards.
He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance, while encouraging continuing students to remain focused on their studies and comply with academic regulations. The affected students have been directed to return all university property in their possession, including identity cards and other official items, to the institution’s security unit before completing their exit process.
