Lady Breaks Down After Physically Disabled Man Asked to Marry Her at Wedding (Video)

A Nigerian woman has sparked mixed reactions online after recounting an emotional experience at a wedding where a physically disabled man unexpectedly approached her and expressed his desire to marry her.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady said she had spent considerable time and money preparing for the event, hoping to look her best, but never imagined the encounter that would leave her in tears.

According to her, she attended the wedding looking glamorous after styling her hair, getting her nails and lashes done, and buying a new pair of shoes, handbag, and jewellery for the occasion.

While standing outside the reception venue with some of the aso-ebi ladies, she said a physically disabled man approached her and told her he liked her.

Wanting to be polite, she said she listened to him instead of dismissing him.

However, she was taken aback when the man told her he wanted to marry her.

The lady questioned why he had singled her out despite the many women at the wedding, saying she struggled to understand why she was the one he chose.

She also jokingly wondered whether her appearance, including the gold bracelet she wore, had somehow attracted his attention, adding that she had expected to be approached by other men at the event.

Her video has since gone viral, attracting mixed reactions across social media. While some users sympathised with her emotional response, others criticised her comments, arguing that the man had respectfully expressed his interest and should not be mocked for doing so.
