Man Calls Out Facebook Acquaintance After She Allegedly Disappears With Money Meant for Cooking

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to call out a woman he met on Facebook after she allegedly stopped communicating with him shortly after receiving money from him.

The man, identified as Chukwudi Sunday Ajuro, said he initially believed the woman was a “wife material” when they connected on Facebook.

According to him, the woman initially told him she was hungry and needed ₦2,000 to get something to eat. He said he sent her the money.

He claimed she later contacted him again, this time requesting ₦3,000 to purchase medication for an ulcer, which he also reportedly sent.

According to Chukwudi, the woman subsequently offered to visit him and prepare a meal as a way of appreciating his kindness.

He said he agreed and sent her another ₦12,000 to cover the cost of cooking and transportation.

However, he alleged that the woman stopped responding to his messages after receiving the money.

Frustrated by the development, Chukwudi shared screenshots of their conversations and evidence of the bank transactions while calling attention to his experience.

The incident has since sparked reactions online, with social media users sharing different opinions about sending money to people they have only recently met online.

The transaction receipt shows the name of the receiver as Ugochukwu Okafor. It is not clear if the woman gave him the account details of a man to make payment to or if the Facebook user is actually a man posing as a woman to defraud unsuspecting men.
