Genocide in Gaza
Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, which started following an October 7, 2023 cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and wounded over 174,000 others, most of them women and children, while destroying about 90 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure.
Analysts say the death toll cited by Palestinian officials is an undercount, with the actual figure potentially two to three times higher than current estimates.
In November, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of ordering “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in Gaza, which Israel has blockaded from land, air and sea since 2005.
The ceasefire was brokered under Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, which is being overseen by the Board of Peace, chaired by Trump.
Despite the ceasefire which took effect on October 10, 2025, Israel has continued daily attacks across Gaza, killing 1,214 Palestinians and wounding 3,977 others, most of them women and children, while causing widespread destruction.
It remains unclear whether Israel will cease its violations of the ceasefire following the announcement by Trump.
