NASENI, MOFI Commit To Eco-friendly Environment
National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), have expressed their commitments to promoting eco-friendly environment in Nigeria.
The agency and the ministry demonstrated this when NASENI empowered 250 households in Ohafia community, Abia State with solar systems comprising solar fans, solar panels, and clean cooking stoves.
At the occasion, the executive vice chairman/ chief executive officer of the agency, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, described the push as a fallout of NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme (NSEP).
”We believe that science, technology and engineering must move beyond laboratories and institutions and translate into practical solutions that improve livelihoods, create opportunities and strengthen communities.
”We are also committed to measuring the impact of these interventions. For NASENI, success is not simply the number of programmes we organise or items we distribute,” Halilu explained.
On his part, the managing direct/chief executive officer of the ministry and the guest of honour, Armstrong Ume Taking called on the well-placed in society to impact positively on the less-fortunate.
He said President Tinubu who appointed him into the office believes that people should use the opportunity given to them to help others which informed why he attracted the empowerment home.
“Our president believes in the fact that when you have an opportunity to serve, you start by serving your people, you come back home and make a difference in your community
While assuring the people of more rewarding partnerships between the federal government and the state, the ministry chief commended the agency for the empowerment.
Similarly, the director-general of Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), Obinna Odum, said the agency was willing to partner NASENI to bring the empowerment further to the hinterland.
