NDC Chieftain Hails Tinubu, Adeleke Over Osun Gov’ship Election

Deputy governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Benue State, Dr Raymond Edoh, has congratulated Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in last Saturday’s election.

He particularly commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as providing an environment that allowed the election to take place peacefully.

Edoh described the outcome as a reflection of the people’s democratic choice and called for continued respect for credible and peaceful elections.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday, he lauded Osun voters for their peaceful participation in the electoral process.

He also urged political stakeholders to support the elected government in the interest of the state.

Edoh said, “I sincerely congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on this well-deserved victory.

“I also commend the people of Osun State for coming out peacefully to exercise their democratic rights,” he said.

The NDC candidate said the conduct of the election demonstrated the importance of allowing the citizens to freely choose their leaders through the ballot box.

“I particularly appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for allowing a free, fair and peaceful electoral process in Osun State.

“This is a significant demonstration of confidence in our democratic institutions and the ability of Nigerians to determine who governs them through the ballot box,” he stated.

The NDC chieftain also congratulated the political parties, candidates, electoral officials, security agencies and other stakeholders who contributed to the conduct of the election.

He urged Adeleke to regard the victory as a mandate to serve all residents of Osun State, regardless of political affiliation.

Edoh called for greater attention to inclusive governance, economic development, youth empowerment, women’s participation and improved welfare.

He also appealed to political actors to embrace sportsmanship and put national interest above partisan considerations.
