The Ogobiri Youths Association has called for closer collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen peace and security in Ogobiri community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by the association’s 16th Executive Council to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Sagbama Division, CSP Abenson Umoru Solomon.
Speaking during the visit, the association’s President, Mounkurai Oweilakeme Governor, said the meeting was aimed at introducing the newly inaugurated executive council and reinforcing cooperation with the police to promote peace and community development.
He said the association would continue to encourage young people to remain law-abiding and support community initiatives, including the monthly environmental sanitation exercise held on the last Saturday of every month. “We are committed to working with the police to sustain peace, security and development in our community,” he said.
Responding, CSP Solomon commended the association for its peaceful approach and urged members to remain united and support law enforcement by providing credible information to help prevent crime.
He assured the youths of the police’s commitment to partnering with the association to maintain peace and security in the area.The youth association reaffirmed its commitment to building strategic partnerships that promote security, youth empowerment and sustainable community development.
