Oluyede Urges Supporters To Put Ekiti Poll Grievances Behind Them For Tinubu’s Re-election
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State June 20 poll, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has urged his supporters and political associates to put behind them the grievances arising from the governorship election and be united to support President’s Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Oluyede, who declared that an end has come to his political differences with Governor Biodun Oyebanji, said they will now work together to galvanize support for President Bola ahead of 2027 general.
He stated this in Ado-Ekiti at the inaugural meeting of the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), a political support group rooting for the president re-election.
At the meeting, the medical doctor turned politician, announced the emergence of a political alliance involving the PDP, Accord, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Action Alliance (AA) and other political groups to support Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Oluyede explained that the formation of the group came following a communication from the Presidency, saying President Tinubu had appealed to him to put the bitterness of the Ekiti 2026 governorship election behind him and work with his administration.
He said the President assured him that the political disagreement occasioned by the Ekiti election should not prevent them from working together for the progress of the country.
His words, “After the election, I went to Abuja with anger because I was humiliated during the Ekiti election. President Bola Tinubu sent a message to me that he would call me. Nine days ago, I received a call from the Presidency.
“President Bola Tinubu asked them to pick up and he told me not to get angry. He told me they only showed you the might of their power.
“I have been following Tinubu before he became the President. We were only four people who founded SWAGA. The people claiming leadership of the group were not there.
“President Bola Tinubu didn’t ask me to depart PDP. He told me, ‘Let’s work together for my re-election bid and I’ll settle you after my re-election.
“Tinubu knows our worth. That’s why he’s appealing to us to support him for his re-election bid. I’m appealing to all of us, let’s forget about what happened during the Ekiti election. Let’s focus on Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“The war is over. I and Governor Biodun Oyebanji will work together for President Bola Tinubu’s election. I am no more fighting with Oyebanji. God has given him his victory.
“If you see me in his house, I’m not there for myself but for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. But the next election in Ekiti, PDP is coming back in 2030.”
