Osimhen roars back: five goals, two assists, three games

Victor Osimhen is tearing through the new season. The Super Eagles striker has piled up seven goal contributions in just three matches for Galatasaray(five goals and two assists )a return that already screams intent for a player determined to prove his price tag right.
The Nigerian forward extended that run on Saturday, striking again as Galatasaray edged Göztepe 3-2 in a tense, end-to-end derby. Göztepe shocked the Turkish champions early, snatching a 16th-minute lead. Galatasaray hit back fast: Davinson Sánchez leveled things up, and Osimhen quickly stamped his influence on the game, setting up Sara to nudge the hosts in front.

He wasn’t done. Osimhen coolly slotted home a 63rd-minute penalty to push the score to 3-1, stretching his season tally to five goals in the process. Göztepe pulled one back late, but Galatasaray held firm to bank a hard-fought three points and climb to the top of the table after three rounds.
The numbers back up the eye test. Osimhen has scored five goals and provided two assists in three appearances this season, a return of seven direct goal contributions. That tally includes a converted penalty and an assist recorded in the win over Göztepe alone. The result also lifted Galatasaray to the top of the Turkish Süper Lig table after three matches, as they push to retain the title they currently hold.
Galatasaray reportedly rejected a €125 million offer for Osimhen, choosing to keep their Nigerian striker rather than cash in mid-season. The figure places him among the most highly valued forwards in European football right now.
