The Imole Campaign Council has accused Senator Francis Fadahunsi of Osun East Senatorial District of intimidating voters during the Osun governorship election on Saturday, 15 August 2026, after he was seen and heard at his polling unit directing All Progressives Congress supporters to monitor voters’ choices and act against people who did not support the party.
The incident occurred at Polling Unit 1, NUD Primary School, Collation Centre in Ilase-Ijesa, where the senator was alleged to have given instructions to APC supporters during voting.
The council said security agencies must intervene immediately to prevent voters from being intimidated at the polling location.
The accusation centres on the alleged monitoring of voters and instructions given to party supporters at the polling unit. The council said such conduct threatens the freedom of voters to make their choices without interference.
Council demands security intervention
The council’s spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said Fadahunsi instructed APC supporters at the polling unit to watch the choices being made by voters.
Olajengbesi further alleged that the senator told his followers to take action against people who were not supporting the APC. The council described the alleged conduct as unacceptable and contrary to democratic voting.

The council said the incident was another serious violation of democratic principles during the election. It also referred to what it called a previous incident involving Fadahunsi, saying the senator should have learnt from that experience.
The spokesman wrote that one would have expected Fadahunsi to have learnt from his “last despicable out,” but said the latest allegation showed otherwise.
He said, “A leopard never changes its spot!”
The allegation was made on election day, as voters were taking part in the Osun governorship poll. The council’s position is that voters should be able to make their choices without being watched or threatened by political supporters.
Fadahunsi represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly and was at his polling unit in Ilase-Ijesa when the alleged instructions were made.
As at the time of filing this report, the council did not provide details of any arrest or intervention by security agencies following the allegation.
