The Olufon of Ifon-Osun in Orolu Kingdom, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Akinyooye, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his electoral victory and renewed mandate to lead the State.
NAIJAONPOINT reports that Governor Adeleke was on Sunday declared elected, having won 19 out of the 30 local government areas in the governorship election held across the state on Saturday.
The State Returning Officer, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, declared the result of the poll at about 7:24 am on Sunday.
Adeleke polled a total of 511067 votes to emerge victorious in the contest.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Akeeb Yusuff, the monarch said the victory should be celebrated with prayers for wisdom, strength and divine guidance as the governor continues to steer the affairs of Osun State.
“May his tenure usher in greater peace, development, prosperity and good governance, and may Ifon-Osun and every community across Osun State witness meaningful progress and improved fortunes under his administration,” Olufon prayed.

The Palace particularly prays that the new administration will be a period of shared prosperity for all, especially Orolu Local Government Area.
“May every indigene of Ifon-Osun find greater opportunities to prosper, and may the people of Osun State enjoy the dividends of democracy, economic growth, security and sustainable development. We urge all sons and daughters of Osun to support every genuine effort aimed at moving the State forward and to place the collective interest of our town and people above other considerations,” Oba Akinyooye added.
Meanwhile, the monarch urged party faithfuls and their supporters to shun every form of confrontation, provocation or action capable of degenerating into violence during the period of celebration.
“Those celebrating are enjoined to do so with moderation, maturity and respect for others, while those who did not emerge victorious are encouraged to accept the outcome with the true spirit of sportsmanship, embrace peace and continue to contribute positively to the development of our dear State.
“Election is a contest, but Osun is our common home. Let peace prevail, let unity endure, and let prosperity be the victory of all,” Olufon stated.
