The trending footage reportedly shows the actor in a romantic moment with another woman.
The video attracted strong reactions online and placed pressure on Oteele and his family to address the controversy.
Oteele’s wife, Gifty Nana Afriyie, responded first in an emotional TikTok video. She denied claims that she was the woman seen in the footage.
She also apologised to the public on behalf of the family.
After remaining silent for several hours, Oteele appeared in a TikTok live session to address the situation.
The actor admitted that he had disappointed his family and said he wanted to make things right.
Ghanaian social media blogger Shadrack Amonoo Crabbe shared details of Oteele’s response on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
According to the blogger, Oteele plans to visit his wife with respected elders and formally ask for her forgiveness.
