The Ministry of Establishments and Training conducted mandatory confirmation examinations for more than 4,500 civil service officers on Grade Levels 1 to 6 across Oyo State on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Seven zonal centres operated simultaneously across the state, with the exercise beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants included officers from junior cadres such as Clerical Officers, Clerical Assistants, Store Attendants and related positions.
At the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre serving Ibadan Zones 1 and 2, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry assured candidates that all eligible officers would be examined.
He instructed participants to remain patient whilst awaiting their scheduled batches and to perform to the best of their ability.
The permanent secretary characterised the examination as essential for career progression, noting that officers appointed to junior cadres must pass within two years of appointment to secure confirmation.
He encouraged candidates to approach the exercise seriously and maximise their performance.
The examination assessed knowledge of Public Service Rules I and II and current affairs.
Results will be released and distributed to candidates through their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies following the completion of marking.
