Peter Okoye: Jude called my Son a ‘Bastard’

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square group, has made fresh allegations against his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, claiming he faced strong opposition from his family over his relationship with his wife, Lola Omotayo.

Speaking during a recent interview, Peter alleged that Jude once referred to his first son as a “bastard” and urged Lola to terminate her pregnancy while the couple were expecting their first child. According to the singer, the alleged remarks came during a period when some members of his family were opposed to his relationship with Lola.

Peter said the experience left him deeply hurt and marked the beginning of years of strained family relations. He maintained that despite the resistance, he chose to stand by Lola and eventually married her in 2013 after several years together.

The singer described the alleged comments as some of the most painful moments of his life, adding that they reinforced his determination to protect his wife and children from family conflicts. He said his immediate family now remains his top priority, stressing that his peace of mind outweighs any pressure to maintain unhealthy relationships.

EFCC: No substantiate key allegations by Peter Okoye against brothers

Peter Okoye cries foul, alleges brotherly betrayal in court clash

Bracket claims P-Square feud is spiritual

The latest claims come amid the long-running public fallout between Peter, his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), and Jude Okoye. The dispute, which has spanned several years, has involved disagreements over the management of P-Square, royalty payments and financial dealings. The feud has also spilled into the courts, where Jude is facing fraud-related charges that he has denied. Peter is a key witness in the ongoing case.

Peter has repeatedly spoken about choosing distance over family conflict, insisting that protecting his mental well-being and immediate family is more important than maintaining toxic relationships. Earlier this year, he also threatened legal action against claims involving his late mother and her alleged views on his marriage to Lola, describing some online narratives as false and defamatory.

As of the time of reporting, Jude Okoye has not publicly responded to Peter’s latest allegations. The claims therefore remain Peter Okoye’s account of events and have not been independently verified. The renewed accusations have nevertheless reignited public interest in the long-running Okoye family feud, one of Nigeria’s most high-profile entertainment disputes.
