The allegation was made by Abdullahi Aliyu, popularly known as General, while speaking on NTA Hausa. According to him, the suspect received the money from a bandit leader in Matazu Local Government Area to procure high-grade weapons but allegedly fled without delivering the firearms.
Aliyu also linked the incident to the worsening security situation in the area. He alleged that feared bandit kingpin Kachalla Maha recently withdrew from local peace agreements and has since imposed heavy livestock levies on surrounding communities, increasing tension and insecurity.
The claims have sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief and making sarcastic remarks about the situation.
