The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has outperformed all democratically elected Nigerian presidents in their first terms in office.
Morka made the assertion on Monday during an interview on Channels Television while defending the performance of the Tinubu administration.
According to him, He inherited an economy that was in a “complete mess” when he assumed office in May 2023, but the administration’s policies had since brought about a turnaround.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outperformed any president in his first term. He has outperformed any democratically elected president in this country in their terms.
“The indicators are res ipsa loquitur, as we say in law; they speak for themselves. This president inherited an economy that was in a complete mess,” Morka said.

The APC spokesman argued that the administration’s economic policies had helped Nigeria move beyond its previous macroeconomic challenges.
He said the government had “come out of the woods” on a macroeconomic level, adding that some of the administration’s critics were now acknowledging its achievements.
Morka also compared his administration with those of previous presidents since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.
He described former President Muhammadu Buhari as a “stopgap president”, arguing that Buhari’s administration helped stabilise the country after what he called 16 years of “horrific maladministration” under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“President Buhari served his term and did his job to hold the country steady for President Tinubu to take over,” he said.
