Transfer: Man City sign Rulli as another player leaves Man Utd

Manchester City have agreed a £1.7m deal for Marseille goalkeeper, Geronimo Rulli.

Rulli will sign a two-year deal at the Etihad.

He joins as a replacement for James Trafford, who completed a club-record move to Leeds for an initial £40m.

Rulli has been identified by City as the man to provide backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma next season.

The 34-year-old, who used to play for Villarreal, has one year left on his deal at Marseille.

Radek Vitek has also joined Middlesbrough from Manchester United in a permanent move.

The deal for the goalkeeper is worth up to £14m, with Boro paying an initial £7m plus £7m in add-ons.

United have also inserted a 35 per cent sale on matching rights and a buy-back option.

Vitek spent last season on loan in the Championship with Bristol City.
