Trump cancels planned attack against Iran

US President Donald Trump has said he has cancelled a planned attack on Iran after saying that the framework of a deal had been agreed, while making the decision conditional on a rapid agreement being reached.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said the United States had been prepared to launch an attack on Iran but had been asked by Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to hold off.
He said the framework of a deal had been agreed and would include the “immediate, complete, and total” reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and “an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.”
