The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has announced that 27 vessels are scheduled to arrive at three major ports in Lagos within the next two weeks.
According to the authority’s Daily Shipping Position released on Monday, the vessels are expected at the Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea and Tin Can Island Ports between September 7 and September 20.
The NPA said 10 of the vessels would arrive with containers containing various commodities, while the remaining ships would bring crude oil, aviation fuel, general cargo, bulk gypsum, sugar and salt.
The authority also disclosed that seven vessels and tanker ships had already arrived at the three ports and were awaiting berthing.
The vessels waiting to berth are expected to discharge bulk urea, petrol and diesel.
Meanwhile, 20 other vessels are currently engaged in cargo discharge operations at the ports, according to the NPA.
The commodities being discharged include bulk wheat, containers, fresh fish, general cargo, bulk fertiliser, pallets, bulk urea, bulk gas and petrol.
