A Nigerian doctor has warned men to prepare themselves for the possibility of living alone in their later years, regardless of whether they are good men or not.

The doctor gave the advice while discussing the importance of self-sufficiency and preparation for old age, particularly among men currently in their 20s to 40s.

According to the doctor, many men could face loneliness and heartbreak in old age over the next two to three decades.

“If you’re a man, prepare to live alone in your later years, whether you’re a good man or not. A whole lot of men in the next 20–30 years are going to die of loneliness and heartbreak in their old age. If you’re in your 20s to 40s, ensure you retain the ability to take care of yourself. Learn how to get your own food, do your laundry, take care of yourself and, most importantly, make money.” — Nigerian doctor
