Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has rejected reports that she is part of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council for the 2027 elections.
Abraham made her position clear on X on Thursday, 17 September, saying she had not joined any campaign council and had decided to stay away from politics.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote.
Her denial came after her name appeared among entertainment figures listed under the Lagos APC campaign structure released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre.

The list placed Abraham in the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate of the campaign council. The actress, however, said the public should disregard her inclusion.

The New Daily Prime had reported today that the campaign structure is scheduled for inauguration on Friday, 18 September, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Abraham’s name appeared alongside several Nollywood and Fuji music personalities listed under the entertainment directorate.
The information released by the media centre identified Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director of the directorate. Veteran actor Jide Kosoko was listed as Co-Director, with Eniola Badmus named Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, widely known as Ajala Jalingo, was enlisted as Secretary, while Dare Olateju was named Assistant Secretary.
Another set of entertainment personalities listed included Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, and Tayo Sobola.
Also, fuji musicians named in the structure included Pasuma, Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Malaika, Osupa, and Small Doctor.
The reported appointments placed the entertainment personalities within a formal directorate of the campaign council, with specific administrative positions assigned to some of them.
But Abraham’s public response separates her from that structure.
She said she had already made her position known recently and would not participate in politics.
Her rejection emerged the same day the campaign council details were made public. This puts her position on the reported inclusion beyond doubt.
