Aggregate 6 BECE Candidate Who Was Placed At Opoku Ware Initially Rushed To Hospital After CSSPS Replaced Him In A Different School
A mother in Kumasi has expressed frustration over an issue with the 2026 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), claiming that his son’s placement changed after he checked the system for the second time.
According to the mother, his son, who obtained an aggregate 6 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), was initially placed at the prestigious Opoku Ware School, his preferred choice.
However, she said after checking the placement details again, the school had changed to St. Hubert Seminary Senior High School, a development that left the young student devastated.
“My son with aggregate 6 was placed at Opoku Ware, but after checking for the second time, it had changed to St. Hubert. This left him devastated, and I had to take him to the hospital,” she said.
The complaint comes amid growing concerns from some parents and candidates over challenges with this year’s CSSPS placement process, with some reporting unexpected school assignments and changes.
The CSSPS Secretariat has maintained that the system matches candidates based on factors including their results, school choices, available vacancies and placement rules. Candidates can check their assigned schools and placement details through the official placement portal.
The mother is appealing for the issue to be investigated and for authorities to help resolve the matter.
