Air Force Personnel, Students Killed In Adamawa Autocrash

Sir persons, including an Airforce personnel and students, have been killed when a tiper loaded with sand rammed into a tricycle carrying commuters along the Yola-Girei Expressway in Adamawa State.
Sources from the Federal Road Safety Commission, Girei, said the accident occurred opposite the Distance Learning Centre of the Modibo Adama University, Bukar Mele.
The source confirmed that students and one Nigeria Airforce personnel were among the victims who died during the incident.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said preliminary report indicated that six persons lost their lives in the crash.
He said that the victims were rushed to a hospital where they were confirmed dead.
He explained that Police operatives from Girei Divisional Headquarters, Federal Housing and the Central Motor Traffic Division were immediately mobilised to the scene to evacuate the victims and restore normal flow of traffic.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, commiserated with the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of their souls.
The command urged motorists to drive with caution, obey traffic rules and avoid over speeding to prevent further loss of lives.
