The All Progressives Congress(APC) senatorial candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, has called on the people of Anambra in Awka to rally behind President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ekwunife made the remarks on Saturday at a one-day stakeholders’ meeting for Anambra Central, attended by local government and ward officials at the Uche Ekwunife Centre. She spoke in her capacity as the South-East Zonal Director of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
She declared that her team, campaign supporters and political representatives passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu. The gatherers pledged to secure victory for the ruling party across all levels in the state.
Ekwunife explained that her goal is to make sure President Tinubu wins from top to bottom in Anambra. She promised that the state would produce massive votes for the president on January 16, 2027.

She urged residents not to fall for rival propaganda, warning against the All Progressives Grand Alliance slogan that progressives are working together in the state.
According to Ekwunife, voters need to support President Tinubu so he can finish the development projects started across the South-East region. She noted that joining the ruling team would improve lives across various sectors.
Party leaders challenge rival slogans
During the meeting, APC Deputy National Chairman for the South, Ben Nwoye, supported Ekwunife’s position regarding the state’s political climate.
Nwoye called the rival slogan a fallacy and asked party members to ignore it. He expressed assurance that the APC will win the state elections.
Ekwunife praised key figures in the region for strengthening the party. She mentioned Works Minister Dave Umahi, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah as leaders doing good work.
She promised to advance the Anambra Central Senatorial District if voters choose her to go back to the Senate.
The APC candidate for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Kingsley Ezekwelu, thanked Ekwunife for organizing the event.
Ezekwelu promised to secure high votes for the party in the presidential, National Assembly, and State Assembly contests, while thanking journalists for reporting on the federal government.
The meeting ended with attendees officially passing a vote of confidence in both President Tinubu and Senator Ekwunife.
Participants resolved to take the campaign directly to local communities. They promised to work together to deliver victory for all APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
Prominent party figures at the gathering included Elijah Onyeagba, the APC candidate for Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Anaocha Federal Constituency.
APC Deputy National Organising Secretary Emeka Okafor and South-East APC Women Leader Dr Oby Achi were also present to support the campaign plans.
