At least eight students have been injured after a gunman opened fire outside a high school in western Turkey.
The shooting happened at around 8am local time in the Turgutlu district, about 50 kilometres east of Izmir.
According to reports, an unidentified gunman opened fire near the entrance of a technical and vocational secondary school.
Emergency services said at least eight students were injured in the shooting.
One of the students is reportedly in critical condition.
The suspected gunman has been arrested.
It is still unclear what led to the shooting or whether the victims were deliberately targeted.
The incident comes after Turkey experienced several school shootings over the past year.
Two shootings happened on consecutive days in April, including one that reportedly left nine people dead.
The incidents caused widespread outrage and led Turkish authorities to introduce additional security measures, including stricter controls on weapons.
Security has also been increased at schools, with authorities paying more attention to suspicious people and vehicles around school areas.
The government has also said it wants to tackle the glorification of violence on social media as videos and reports of shootings can quickly spread online.
