The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council said on Saturday, 26 September 2026, in Abuja, that it will name more appointees to its structure in the days ahead. Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the council, signed a four-page statement asking party members whose names have not appeared to be patient.
Shaibu said the campaign is still building its structure, and not everyone can be named at once. He said the list already released is an important stage, but not the final list of the council.

“The campaign is still evolving. Consultations are continuing, and further responsibilities will be assigned as the structure expands across the country,” Shaibu said.
He asked those who feel left out not to think their work for the party has been forgotten.
“To those who may feel disappointed that their names have not appeared yet, we ask for patience and understanding. No one should believe that years of commitment and sacrifice have been forgotten,” he said.
What the campaign will do next
Shaibu said the council will soon name its zonal and state structures, more senior appointments, and other layers of organisation down to wards and polling units. A ward is the smallest unit used to organise voters in an area, and a polling unit is the specific place where people cast their votes on election day.
He said the campaign will pick from loyal party members, experienced leaders, professionals, young people and everyday Nigerians willing to contribute meaningfully to its work.
Shaibu also spoke about Atiku Abubakar directly.
“His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, remains deeply conscious of the sacrifices made by those who have stood with him over the years. Loyalty is remembered. Sacrifice is respected. Friendship is valued,” he said.
He said the party’s strength has always been its people and the relationships built over many years, and that this bond must be kept.
The policy plan behind the appointments
Beyond appointments, Shaibu said the campaign is working on its policy plan, which he called its policy architecture.
He said this plan will bring together Nigerians with proven competence, experience and global perspective, to work on areas he listed as urgent for the country.
These areas, according to Shaibu, are the cost of living, food security and agriculture, security, energy and power, jobs and industrialisation, manufacturing and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which are small and medium-sized businesses.
Others are education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology and innovation, social protection, natural resources, the environment, and human capital development, which refers to the skills, health and knowledge of the population.
Shaibu said, “Nigeria’s challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. The objective is to ensure that every major national problem is matched with a serious, practical and implementable policy response capable of improving the everyday lives of Nigerians.”

No full list of appointments has been released yet, only a partial one, with more names expected soon. ADC did not give a date for when the new appointments or the zonal and state structures will be announced.
Shaibu described the campaign as people-driven, saying it will continue to grow on its own, as Nigerians who want a country where life is more affordable join in.
“This is a people-driven national campaign. It will continue to grow organically, drawing strength from Nigerians who share the desire to build a country where life is more affordable, businesses can thrive, young people can find opportunity and families can once again look to the future with confidence,” he said.
He closed the statement by inviting more people to join.
“There is room in this journey for every sincere hand willing to serve,” he said.
