Nigerian billionaire King Ochacho has sparked reactions online after a popular luxury authentication account questioned the authenticity of a designer shirt he wore to a recent private gathering.
The Instagram page @T20luxury, known for examining luxury fashion items worn by Nigerian celebrities and public figures, shared side-by-side images of Ochacho’s outfit alongside what it identified as the original version of a Fendace shirt.
Fendace is a collaboration between Italian fashion houses Fendi and Versace.
According to the luxury-focused account, there were noticeable differences between the shirt worn by Ochacho and the authentic design. It specifically pointed to the camp collar, claiming that the style is only featured on the long-sleeve version of the shirt, while Ochacho appeared to be wearing a short-sleeve version.
“In case the wearer isn’t aware of this, this Fendace shirt isn’t originally from Versace or Fendi. The camp collar, like the one he’s wearing, is exclusive to the long-sleeve version,” the account stated.
The page also highlighted other design details it described as inconsistencies, using them to question whether the shirt was an authentic Fendace piece.
The post has since attracted attention from social media users, with many discussing the claims made about the billionaire’s outfit.
This is not the first time @T20luxury has scrutinised the luxury items associated with a prominent Nigerian personality, as the account has previously drawn attention to alleged inconsistencies in high-end fashion pieces.
