Fuel Hike: Stop Complaining, A Litre Is ₦3,000 In London – Edo Governor Tells Nigerians

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has told Nigerians to stop complaining about the price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol, saying the country is doing well in that regard.

Okpebholo stated this in a viral video while addressing members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that the high cost of fuel has made life harder for Nigerians, with the situation also leading to an increase in transport fares as commercial bus drivers lament the high cost of petrol and maintenance of their vehicles.

In Osogbo, the Osun State capital, commercial minibus, popularly known as Korope, drivers on Wednesday released a new comprehensive fare list.

The drivers released the list following a peaceful protest over the high cost of petrol.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that the protesters, who gathered at the Ayetoro area of the state capital, lamented that the business was no longer profitable.

Addressing the gathering, Okpebholo said a litre of fuel in London is sold for over ₦3,000, adding that President Bola Tinubu is doing everything to stabilise the economy.

He said, “I was in London last week, and I told my friends to let us go and buy fuel just to know the cost of fuel in Nigeria and England. Let me tell you, after conversion, it is about ₦3,000 for 1 litre of fuel.

“We are doing very well here. The president is stabilising the economy. President Bola Tinubu is an Economist.”
