Bose Ogulu, mother and manager of Afrobeats star Burna Boy, has spoken about her son’s personality, explaining why she believes people should be willing to overlook some of his controversial behaviour.

Ogulu made the remarks during an appearance on Channels TV, where she was interviewed by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

While discussing her son, she pointed out the noticeable difference between the way she communicates on social media and Burna Boy’s approach, particularly when he interacts with fans online.

According to her, the Grammy-winning singer is like a tapestry, meaning that every part of his personality contributes to the person he is. She explained that focusing too much on one aspect of his character could affect the qualities that make him unique.

“You can always notice the difference between when I tweet and when Burna tweets. What I’ve come to learn is that artists like him, they’re like tapestry. If you pull at one thread too hard, everything will unravel.

“So you must make allowances for this person being himself, because it’s the same emotion that what you love about him comes from. Within, we do what we can. I usually grab his phone from him anytime he goes wild on Instagram Live,” she said.

Ogulu’s comments shed light on the way she handles her son’s outspoken nature, especially when his personality becomes a subject of discussion online.

Burna Boy has often made headlines for his unfiltered remarks and activities on social media. His Instagram Live sessions, in particular, have occasionally drawn public attention as he speaks freely about different issues and interacts with his fans.
