Nigerian comedian and content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, better known as Bae U Barbie, has opened up about his decision to move away from traditional skit-making.
The comedian made the revelation during a recent appearance on The Morayo Show, explaining that the decision came at a time when he was trying to rediscover himself and determine the kind of content he truly wanted to create.
Bae U Barbie said he had grown dissatisfied with being “average” and wanted to explore a different direction within the entertainment industry.
“The concept of Curiosity Made Me Ask came from me finding myself. I was tired of being average and wanted to do something different,” he said.
According to him, his desire to stand out also influenced his decision to distance himself from the conventional skit-making scene.
“I didn’t want to be like the skit makers,” he added.
His decision eventually gave birth to Curiosity Made Me Ask, a comedy interview show where he interacts with prominent personalities from different fields.
Bae U Barbie also revealed that Zack’s Between Two Fences inspired the concept of his show.
Since launching the platform, he has interviewed several notable Nigerians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, veteran actor Pete Edochie and television host Frank Edoho.
However, the content creator is already looking beyond Nigeria as he continues to expand his ambitions.
He disclosed that one of his biggest dreams is to sit down for an interview with United States President Donald Trump.
