INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, announced the date during a readiness assessment and stakeholder engagement in Kaduna.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the recent Continuous Voter Registration exercise, which recorded 10,772,421 new registrants across three phases, according to INEC. The figures remain subject to ongoing Automated Biometric Identification System verification.
INEC said the latest registration exercise brings the national register close to 100 million voters. The commission has also introduced a printable PVC system as part of efforts to improve voter access and reduce logistical challenges during card distribution.
Amupitan has also directed electoral officials to maintain professionalism and avoid partisan conduct as preparations for the 2027 election continue.
